In the Premier League, Liverpool chased Manchester City right to the final whistle, with just one solitary point separating the two teams. Days later in the UEFA Champions League Final in Paris, only an unbelievable performance by Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois denied the Reds a seventh European crown.
